Dead Man Walking: Menu

Appetizer: Deviled Eggs
This is a little bit of a stretch.  I chose to do deviled eggs as my appetizer because it has the name devil in them.  In the bible, a devil is an evil person and the ruler of hell.  Since hell is where bad people go when they die having deviled eggs would make sense. Deviled Eggs

Drink: Water
My guests are drinking water because in prison the inmates are only allowed to drink water.  Also in the movie in almost every scene where Helen and Matthew are together Matthew is drinking water. Water

Entre: Shrimp, Potatoes, Oysters, Corn
This was Matthew Poncelet's last meal in the movie. Shrimp Meal.

Entre 2: Ramen Noodles
Ramen noodles are a typical food eaten by inmates that are in prison. I thought it would be a good thing to include because it is a prison party. Ramen Noodles

Desert: Chess Pie
Sister Helen brought a pie to the families of the victims.  Chess Pie

He has to scramble for jobs and beg for money throughout the majority of the movie. His wife and family also suffered and they are not able to provide for all of their kids. These depictions of what James Braddock had to go through are very historically accurate to what he actually went through in real life and what a lot of people had to go through.   In the movie, there is a scene where James and many other people lined up to work day jobs on the docks. This is a very accurate depiction of what the docks would be like on a weekday. Most of t...
